The US Economic and Fiscal Outlook: The Elephant in the Room
In this lecture, Alastair will look at the fiscal deficit and debt outlook for the United States over the next 30 years. The presentation will discuss the mounting fiscal and social challenges that the US is likely to **** and will identify policy innovations from Australia that the US could consider in addressing these challenges. 
About the presenter
Alastair JM Walton is the Consul-General of Australia to New York.
Alastair is a career investment banker who served in senior roles including Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Australia and Head of Investment Banking for Non-Japan Asia at the Credit Suisse Group.
Alastair has a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University, where he was a Dean's Scholar, a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He was inducted into the ANU College of Business and Economics Alumni Hall of Fame in 2013
