Tic Talk for Teachers, GP's and Allied Health Professionals | Adelaide Convention Centre | Saturday, 21. September 2019

Tic Talk is a unique professional development opportunity for ALL Teachers, GP's, Psychologists and allied health professionals.
This one-day seminar is designed to educate, empower and resource you with the skills and practical strategies required to help you and people living with Tourette Syndrome, tic disorders and related comorbidities.

Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a neurological condition characterised by involuntary motor and vocal tics. It does not impact intelligence. By the end of the seminar, you will have the confidence, knowledge and support you need to effectively help people with Tourette Syndrome.
As a devoted mum of nine, qualified teacher, life coach, professional musician, faith and business consultant, entrepreneur, author and keynote speaker I have a passion for education and advocacy for people living with Tourette Syndrome. I have a Bachelor of Music, Diploma of Education and 40yrs personal experience living and working with Tourette Syndrome and am the SA Support Group leader for the Tourette Syndrome Association of Australia, founder of the LOVE 40 Foundation - a not for profit charitable organisation and LOVE Life Coaching.

Tic Talk for teachers can be related back to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers for a total of 10hrs PD (6hrs **** to **** + 4hrs optional reading, resources and online training) covering;- Social Inclusion- Behaviour Management- Anti-bullying strategies- Understanding for ALL learning difficulties- Classroom Tac-Tics and the important roles teachers play in early diagnosis and support- Tourette Syndrome comorbidities, Copralalia, ADHD, ADD, OCD, ODD, anxiety and depression
Did you know 1 in 100 children are diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, 45'000 children in Australia, and many are yet to be formally diagnosed?! GP's, Psychologists, allied health and medical professionals will receive VIP information and hear real-life stories to assist their patients in the early diagnosis stages of Tourette Syndrome, with setting up mental health care plans, help with NDIS applications, neurologist and psychologist referrals plus discover the additional support services available for families, parents and carers, children and adults living with Tourette Syndrome.

This seminar is for you if you need;- Help as someone you know has TS and you don't know what to do?- Strategies to support a student in the classroom diagnosed with TS- Quality resources to diagnose a patient efficiently with TS- Information to assist a family member, friend or colleague with TS
