Sketchflash & Collage making exhibition opening | Waverley Library Exhibition spaces | Wednesday, 06. November 2019

This exhibition is the product of community members in collaboration with Waverley Library to create a unique collection of sketchbooks reflecting the people and culture of the borrowing community of Waverley Library. This exhibition shows the achievements of a friendly community group of like-minded people that meet at the library each week to do what they love and share it.
Waverley Library launched its collage making art classes in 2018 as a fun, creative, sustainable program run fortnightly by library staff. Using discarded magazines and books, participants developed skills to create modern collage designs while engaging with fellow community members in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Each lesson participants were given an assignment do on a different style of collage including portraiture, abstract, the human body, political statement and nightmares & dreamscapes etc. Attendees were encouraged to think outside of traditional art norms and develop new ways of how art is perceived and practiced.

Both exhibitions run from 31 October – 25 November.
Come along and see the work and join up for Term 4 classes.
Free parking for the first 2 hours when you validate your parking ticket.
