Invitation to attend another Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN) Canberra celebration of the inaugural Women in Security Awards, 5-7 pm,
Tuesday 3 September 2019, Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), Engagement Zone, Building 16, 14-16 Brindabella Circuit, Brindabella Business Park (near Canberra Airport)
Welcome to the celebration of nominees and recipients of the CSO AWSN inaugural Women in Security Conference and Award Ceremony is being held on 3 September 2019 commencing at 3.30 AEST in Melbourne at the Park Hyatt.
Around Australia, AWSN members, who can’t attend the Melbourne event, will gather and celebrate nominees and recipients. As the Awards will not be broadcast, AWSN Canberra members and their guests are invited to canapés and drinks from 5 pm to celebrate the nominees and recipients, who be announced during the evening event.

18:00-18:15 An ASD Executive to Acknowledge Country; Welcome to ACSC; Introduce AWSN; acknowledge CSO Online (Awards organisers) and the 1 day Conference including announcing the 10 inaugural Women in Security Awards announced in Melbourne earlier in the day
18:15-18:30 AWSN - Tina Rose will announce the nominees for each of the 10 award then Christine Leung announced the 3 finalists, if known, and recipient of each award
18:30-18:55 Networking
18:55-19:00 An ASD Executive to make closing remarks
For inaugural awards this year, there are 329 nominations in 10 award categories. The nominees include many AWSN members and our supporters. The award categories are:
* The "One to Watch"* Unsung Hero in Security* Best Place for Women in Security to Work* Best Student Security Leader* Male Champion of Change* Best Female Secure Coder* Best Higher Education Program for Young Ladies in Security* Best Volunteer/Not for Profit* IT Security Barrier Breaker* CSO Publisher Award for the Most Outstanding Woman in Security in Australia.
For this event, there are up to 50 seats available for this event. Please RSVPs using Eventbrite by 12 noon, Tuesday, 27 August 2019

There is limited parking in front of building 16. There is also a large multistorey parking garage across the road.
Amy and I will be wishing us well from afar as we will both be in Europe at the time of this event. Some folks have joked that as I am one of this year’s 16 judges I needed to ‘leave the country’ before the announcements. Not so, I am disappointed to be missing sharing in this celebrations.
