Reptile Care - ACT Wildlife | Sunday, 26. July 2020

This is an introduction to the reptiles and amphibians native to the Canberra region, such as Blue-Tongue Lizards, Shinglebacks, Bearded Dragons and Eastern long-necked Turtles.

Topics will include:

* Identification* Basic anatomy* Handling and transport* First aid* Housing and diet* Common injuries and illnesses, such as cat and dog bites, and road injuries.

Reptiles are generally hardy creatures and often recover from serious injuries. Recovery may be slow, especially over winter, so reptiles can be in care for months and the correct set-up is essential.

Please note: ACT Wildlife does not care for snakes or provide care for domestic reptiles. Wild animals must be kept separately from any any pets you have.

Registration will begin at 8:30 for an 8:45 am start, and the day will finish around 12:30pm.

Tea and coffee are provided. Please bring a mug and some morning tea to share.
