Green Pitch | City of Canada Bay | Monday, 24. June 2019

City of Canada Bay presents Green Pitch, a new program where great ideas to improve environmental sustainability of our City become a reality.
Do you have a solution to increase biodiversity, improve energy efficiency or other green ideas? Then this is the program for you! Transform your ideas into a campaign, learn new skills and compete at a pitch event to win funding and support for your project.
Open to everyone, the project ideas chosen will have a significant impact on the local community and City of Canada Bay's environment. Individuals or teams with new or existing projects are encouraged to apply, as well as projects that have been part of a previous hackathons, competitions and other programs. 
Shorlisted teams will undergo two workshops, where they will receive guidance on developing a project, engage the community, pitching skills and more! The Green Pitch will end with a pitch competition, where you will have the opportunity to pitch your project idea in a Shark-Tank style competition in front of the community and judging panel. Prizes will be awarded to winners to help launch their project.

Terms of entry:

Project must demonstrate how it will create a positive environmental change within the City of Canada Bay;
Applicant must be committed, if successful, to either establishing the project in the City of Canada Bay LGA or running a program/project in the City of Canada Bay;
Committed to diversity;
Able to participate in coaching sessions and workshops during July-August.

 Assessment Criteria:

The extent to which the project demonstrates how it will create a more sustainable environment in the City of Canada Bay;
Pitch can be related to a new community project, or an established community project that is running but not currently implemented in the City of Canada Bay
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the environment and the impacts you seek to create;
Commitment to developing the project idea, if successful, including evidence of how you will engage with relevant individuals/groups within the LGA needed to support the project;
Evidence of need or strengths-based opportunity;
Project objectives are achievable.
