Curtin Indigenous Research Strategy Workshop | | Friday, 20. July 2018

Curtin University is committed to developing an Indigenous Research Strategy to inform, shape and guide the conduct of research activities that involve and impact upon Indigenous people.  The development of the Strategy will be a participative and consultative process jointly led by Professor Chris Moran (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research) and Professor Simon Forrest, Curtin’s Elder in Residence.
The Strategy will align with the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and a number of research-related items previously located in the RAP will come across into the Strategy Document.
Over the next few months, there will be a series of workshops to assist in the development and socialisation of the Indigenous Research Strategy. This workshop will involve a broad cohort of Curtin staff and HDR students and will seek input on key questions that should be addressed in the development of the Draft strategy.  Subsequent workshops will be held following the development of the draft and final Strategy documents.
These workshops will complement a University-wide consultation process (that will invite written submissions) once a draft Indigenous Research Strategy document is developed.
It is hoped that participants of this workshop will remain involved in subsequent activities that will support the development of the Indigenous Research Strategy.
