Coaching: insights on implementation from therapists
Have you been thinking about how to use coaching in supporting your clients? Do you want to understand how other therapists have developed their coaching skills? Coaching is recognised as an essential aspect of therapy service delivery for people with a disability to facilitate implementation of strategies and techniques in daily routines. Dr Fiona Graham from the University of Otago in New Zealand developed the Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) approach as part of her doctoral studies. Fiona will present some of her findings on the implementation of OPC based on conversations with OT’s and Physiotherapists who have used this approach. For more information on OPC, have a look at the OPC web site
Fiona has published a recent article on this approach which will be the focus of this webinar:
Fiona Graham, Pauline Boland, Jenny Ziviani & Sylvia Rodger (2018) Occupational therapists’ and physiotherapists’ perceptions of implementing Occupational Performance Coaching, Disability and Rehabilitation, 40:12, 1386-1392, DOI: 10.1080/09638288.2017.1295474
