Volley Challenge - United in Sport | | Sunday, 08. March 2020

Emma Doyle would like to invite you to the "Volley Challenge - United in Sport".Our mission is to engage girls and empower women around the world to participate in the Volley Challenge on International Women's Day, March 8, 2020.Why: To raise awareness within the youth of today, just how far women have come towards equality in sport and just how far we still have to go.  We want to connect girls with sport and empower women as role models in sport so that we make use of the talents of all.
When: Thursday, March 8, 2020 (International Women's Day)Where: Where ever you live Time: 4:00 pm (16:00) in your CountryHashtags: #VolleyChallenge  #BalanceforBetterCall to Action: All we ask is that you upload (post) a video of participation in The #VolleyChallenge and the Volley Dance (which is optional) as we #PressforProgress together.  You can film this video at any time between now and post it on the 8th of March at 4 pm in your Country.What is the Volley Challenge? A continuous volley rally (the ball cannot bounce) using any piece of sporting equipment.  One partner remains in the same spot while their partner takes one step backwards with each successful hit or catch.  How far apart can you go?What is The Volley Dance?The Volley Dance is a series of simple steps that anyone can attempt.  The movements slowly become quicker and quicker until they turn into a fast salsa style of movement finishing with everyone in a circle.  An example of the dance is provided in the link below.  Please watch this four-minute video that will provide you with all the information that you need.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQEkRS1WMng&feature=youtu.beSpace: Minimum of half a tennis court (12 meters X 5 meters) but the activities do not need to be on a tennis court.Hosts: All clubs and tennis enthusiasts who recognize the need to engage girls and empower womenPlayers: Girls from 4 - 17 years & Women 18 years - Open.  Recommend a minimum of 8 players to half a tennis court.On court Leaders: FEMALE coaches, teachers, leaders, role models, parents, volunteers and club members will lead the on-court activities.Register: Please click the green button that reads register to secure your entry.We are delighted to be using and promoting International singer/songwriter, Sharon Martin's, song - GIRL as the background music to The Volley Dance.
