RSPH Award Understanding Health Improvement Level 2
Healthcare is changing. The emphasis is shifting from simply treating illness, to promoting good health and encouraging individual responsibility for wellbeing – whether it is quitting smoking, doing more exercise, losing weight, drinking alcohol wisely or eating more healthily.
This unique award – supported by the Department of Health – equips you to motivate and support individuals to adopt a healthier lifestyle, and is open to all as no pre-course entry requirement is necessary.
The Award provides an introduction to the fundamentals of health and wellbeing, of the barriers to making a change of lifestyle and how to help people make changes to improve their health.
The aim is to equip you with a knowledge and understanding of the principles of promoting health and wellbeing and of how to direct individuals towards further practical support in their efforts to attain a healthier lifestyle.
 This award covers:

Inequalities in health (Causes and approaches to tackling)
How effective communication can support health messages
Importance of promoting improvements in health and wellbeing
Impact of behaviour change on health and wellbeing

The programme is delivered either over one day or 2 half days and will include a 45 minute multiple-choice examination of 30 questions.
Please note: - If you are booking onto this course you will not need to book onto MECC training as this has the same information but in greater detail.
