How to Write a Housing Plan | Fremantle Hub Space | Thursday, 19. September 2019

We are now starting to see funding for new build Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in NDIS plans, but SDA is a complex and poorly understood NDIS support, with only 6% of NDIS participants being eligible for SDA.
If you have been contracted by a participant with a housing-related goal and/or funding to investigate housing solutions or to explore their housing options, it is vital that you provide the NDIA with housing plans that include relevant evidence to determine whether or not the participant is eligible for SDA. 
UpSkill, an initiative of the Summer Foundation and flagship program, was developed to build the capability of support coordinators and allied health professionals so they can write quality housing plans and Valued Lives is hosting this workshop entitled  'How to Write a Housing Plan' which will be presented by Penny Paul, Senior Policy and Research Officer at the Summer Foundation, using their amended SDA resources which are available at
Who should attend?Support Coordinators and other NDIS providers involved in the development of housing plans. Occupational Therapists providing evidence on SDA eligibility.
Why you should attend:The Summer Foundation has led the way on SDA eligibility and the information required by the NDIA to make a decision whether SDA is reasonable and necessary support of a particular participant.
The SDA Rules 2016 were amended in March this year. The Summer Foundation has uploaded new resources to assist support coordinators and allied health professionals write housing plans, you can download them here,
