KOORIE YOUTH BLACK OUT | The Fort Youth Centre | Sunday, 08. September 2019

Co-presented by Bad Apples Music and Strong Brother Strong Sister and proudly supported by Bad Apples Music, Strong Brother Strong Sister, City of Greater Geelong, the fOrt and The Push – the GEELONG KOORIE YOUTH BLACK OUT is a free event run BY Aboriginal young people FOR Aboriginal young people.
The event will include performances from Snotty Nose Rez Kids and local Wergaia voice Alice Skye, as well as cultural workshops and a Q&A with the artists and Aboriginal youth in the region.
One of Australia’s brightest songwriters, Alice Skye’s hopeful and haunting sound combines dreamy vocals and stripped back piano in a mesmerising presentation of her own words on love, loss and life.
Hosted by the young people at Aboriginal owned youth organisation Strong Brother Strong Sister, the panel discussion aims to generate conversation about identity, culture and country. The event will be the first of its kind in the region, providing young Aboriginal people with positive inspiration and attainable role models from local and international artists and also including cultural workshops which will begin at 11am.

We acknowledge the Waddawaurrung people as the First People of this land on which this event is held
