Surviving the Transition: Safety in the Number$ | Tute room 1, Elisabeth Murdoch Building | Tuesday, 20. August 2019

Are you worried about how you’re going to survive the transition from University to the outside world? There’s nothing worse than that uncertain feeling of how your life and arts practice are going to change once outside the institution, especially when your student payments get cut off.
Marie Schoenmaker has created a three-part, strategy-packed workshop intensive for artists and musicians just like you. Together you’ll tackle your fears of transitioning from the security of the university system into the often indifferent world.
These workshop sessions will be a space to discuss practical and creative strategies and to brainstorm tools that will suit your specific practice and situation. By the end of the series you’ll have defined goals that give you security, clarity, and direction. Marie will make you feel confident in where you’re headed and empowered by what's to come.
Register for just one session, or attend all three.
·     Session 1: Planning with purpose (August 13)
·     Session 2: Safety in the Number$ (August 20)
·     Session 3: The Market in Marketing (August 27)

You’ll get a workbook tailored to you, and a wealth of information to grow your creative career. Lunch will be provided to suit all dietary requirements.

Marie is an artist who graduated from VCA in 2009. Since graduating Marie has founded two artist-run spaces, been involved in numerous art projects, and now consults with many artists and creative businesses. She helps artists and creatives feel motivated by their direction, empowered by their clarity and in control of their practices.

This workshop series is only open to Fine Arts and Music students. Please contact Marie (hello@) if you are unable to attend, but interested in attending future workshops.
