Very Arty Afternoons Quintilian - 4 wk starts 13 November | Quintilian School | Wednesday, 13. November 2019

“Creativity, problem solving and developing imagination is just as important (as literacy and numeracy) and our kids need it to solve the problems of the 21st century” Robyn Ewing – Professor of Teacher Education University of Sydney.
Our play based workshops are a perfect opportunity for your kids to “switch off” and let imagination and creativity take over to create unique one of a kind art pieces. It’s all about having fun and they won’t even notice that they are:– developing social and life skills such as learning from mistakes and thinking optimistically;– trying new things and be challenged to problem solve;– exploring resilience themes through art and STEAM challenges;
Term 4 theme: Resilient kids are grateful.
Gratitude and thanks are key to reducing stress and a sense of belonging. This term supports the development of children who are optimistic and practice gratitude which is the ability to be thankful for the good, express thanks and feel blessed. Children will be challenged to practice gratitude with our own Gratitude Challenge game and reflect on what they are grateful for through beautiful art projects.
There is a new theme and different art based projects each term. For those who join the class in week 8 you are invited to join us for our A Very Arty Afternoon family session where everyone comes and joins the fun and admire the artwork produced in the term.
