Educator's Professional Development Day: STEM in Preservation
Queensland State Archives welcomes primary and secondary Educators in a day of professional development activities. Join Manager of Preservation Services Elizabeth Radford in a presentation and hands-on session exploring STEM topics in conservation. Understand how physics, chemistry and biology is applied in records preservation and conservation of the State’s historical documents. Gather ideas and inspiration on how that can be worked into a classroom setting.

Do I have to be a teacher to register for this workshop?
Yes - participants need to be a registered primary or secondary educator seeking to undertake professional development. 
Can I register for more than 1 person?
Yes - but only on separate forms. Please be sure to register each person on a separate submission to ensure their registration is received.
What lunch options are available?
You're welcome to bring in your lunch and store this in the fridge located in our Reader's Lounge. Fast food options are also available to purchase a 10-minute drive away.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Car: Queensland State Archives is located at 435 Compton Road, Runcorn. Free parking is available on site between 9am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and every second Saturday of the month.
Train: The nearest train station is Fruitgrove Station, on Beenleigh Road, between Nursery Road and Persse Road, Runcorn. The station car park entry is on the Nectarine Street side, near the junction of Mango and Plum Streets. Please check the train timetables before planning your journey.

Walking directions from Fruitgrove Station: The walk from Fruitgrove Station to the State Archives building takes approximately 45 minutes (3.5 kilometres).
Bus: Brisbane City Council Bus route no. 150 from Queen St Bus Station stops on the corner of Gowan and Compton Roads, approximately 900 metres from QSA. Brisbane City Council Bus route no. 152 from Garden City stops at Eisenhower Street, directly opposite Queensland State Archives (check TransLink for the current timetable).
