Hear our names, Know our stories, Become part of our journey Daily, an estimated 44,000 people are forced to flee their homes due to conflict or persecution. This is the highest number of forced displacement in recorded human history, expected to grow due to climate change migration. Despite being an ongoing crisis, countries are closing their borders and offering no comprehensive solutions. In beautifully handcrafted animation, the series follows the dramatic, encouraging, and sometimes even comical fate of 10 refugees. Each short film introduces the true story of a person who has been forced to leave their old life behind and has taken on the challenge to start a new beginning. In both intimate and discrete fashion, Director Boryana Ivanova blends narrative with animation creating intense portraits of people who manage to become masters of their future. This is the US premiere of the Masters of Survival, which was created in Berlin, Germany. All event proceeds will be donated to the International Rescue Committee.
