Ignite the Spark 2020: Developing Talent | Friday, 04. September 2020

Ignite the Spark is a collaboration between the NSW Department of Education and GERRIC at the UNSW School of Education. This annual conference focuses on approaches to differentiation in the classroom, whole school, and community of schools’ contexts.

DET's new High Potential and Gifted Education Policy gives this year's Ignite a particular focus: talent development. Presentations and panels are being sought from government, non-government school teachers, Australian and international researchers, and Australian gifted support organisations. New sessions for 2020 (to be confirmed) may include a student panel and a resource marketplace.

2019 Testimonials:

The first keynote was inspiring! Coming from regional NSW, it was wonderful to hear the advantages for HPL and gifted students living away from the capital cities.

The variety of breakout options provided some innovative ideas that I will take back to my school and classroom.

The session of effective leadership in differentiation was fantastic. We were given specific strategies to put in place and I used one of them yesterday. LOVED it. I could have listened to this presenter for a whole day.
