World Records Presents Winters, Jitwam, Jimi Dawg and Mike Who | Cake Wines Cellar Door | Sunday, 17. December 2017

A well known figure in the Melbourne music community, however someone who mostly shies away from the limelight (preferring to let the music do the talking), Winters has inadvertently put himself front and centre in the minds of music lovers outside his native hometown with the debut release of his 'Sometimes For You But Mostly Just Because' EP on Parallel People.

A producer and selector who has a range that's enviable to most, it's no wonder this EP pulls from such varied influences to create an emotive, full of warmth 4 tracker that leans heavily on soul, jazz, live percussion and rhodes for a set of dance floor material suitable for any moment necessary. First on our radar via the Crown Ruler crew and Magnetic Island party/mix series, we earmarked Winters a while back to play our session and with such a solid EP to debut his productions to the world, now is the perfect time for him to lay down some of those transcontinental/multi genre sounds and grooves on the Cellar Door rig.

We're also blessed to add Jitwam to the line up for a live set of psychedelic soul, blissed out beats and gutter funk dance floor bombs, this being his first show in Australia in a longgggg time. A true wanderer of the globe, his music has a sound that's uniquely his, informed by extensive travels, spirituality and curiosity. Past and recent releases have seen support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Alexander Nut, Moodyman and Henry Wu and this year alone he's released a heavy hitting EP on local label The Jazz Diaries along with a debut full length album on Cosmic Compositions to critical acclaim, further spreading his name far and wide.

Add to this we have Crown Ruler head honcho Jimi Dawg and Mike Who of Midnight Swim warming the floor and filling in the gaps with genre spanning selections to round out what's been a huge year for us and close out the last World Records session before we come back in 2018 bigger and better than ever.

Big shouts to all the DJ's, live acts, producers and collaborators who vibed with us this year and huge love to each and everyone that's supported our sessions.
