Weave your own beautiful Scarf & Shawl | Wagga Wagga | Saturday, 26. October 2019

At Ashculme Textiles Weaving Studio we have several beautiful wooden floor looms ready for anyone with an interest in fibre art to work on.  For the workshops these looms are ready warped so you can get straight on to the fun part of weaving - creating your own unique masterpiece.  Usually the warps are a black wool or cotton but for this workshop we will use a beautiful merino from Bendigo Woollen Mills, so your finished piece will be something soft and comfy that you will want to wear time and again.
Choose some hand dyed alpaca, or a variety of gorgeous fine wools and silks and take a weekend out of your busy lives to weave yourself or a loved one a unique and original piece imbued with your own personality.
Book early to avoid disappointment as places are strictly limited to 5.  Never woven before?  The technique of weaving is quick and simple to learn and the creativity of it is something we all have within us.  I will guide you along the way, from the fundamentals of weaving to the creative additions that make each piece so unique.  So come along and weave yourself  your very own winter scarf or shawl.  Weaving is a relaxing and rhythmic activity that allows for conversations and new friendships while you weave your scarf.  Conversations continue afterwards too when people admire not just the scarf you are proudly wearing, but the fact you also designed and made it yourself.  Book early enough and I will thread the loom to your exact wishes.
