Positive Behaviour Support for Children and Adults with Autism
Workshop is suitable for all people working with children and adults with Autism
Learning Objectives: 

An introduction to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) – awareness of key principles, process & values
Positive perspective on autism – recognising and valuing strengths & positives
Key principles and practices of autism support that prevent challenges –understanding that good basic PBS is good autism support
An understanding of what is and what isn’t challenging behaviour & why it happens – understanding what can cause and maintain challenges to inform assessments of these
Three PBS tools for you to use  - a practical session where you learn to use 3 free to use simplified PBS tools
Working in more complex scenarios – Awareness of how to apply PBS where there are multiple, immediate challenges in a situation
PBS under the NDIS & the role of restricted Practices – understanding the legislation & expectations of delivering PBS under the NDIS
